Seems like a pretty fast decision too! They must have been keen!

Aw, thanks Jen ((hug))

It's working for the local council - clerical work. Pay is good, and it's temporary for six months. Nervous about starting, although I don't have a date yet!

Suz-hurrha!! that's wonderful...I'm sure they'll ask you to stay on past six months. they usually do. My friend got clerical work with our local council in cornwall, she was only meant to be there three months, but they gave her a permanent position.

So it sounds v promising!!! :D

Again, sooo happy for you. Now, we can hit the shops with a vengence ;)

Jen - it's cover for maternity, so I'll wait and see what happens in 6ish months. You never know, eh?

Sam B and SandDancer - thank you!

I can't tell you how lovely the money will be! I'll be able to afford a haircut for a start!

lol, ok, I'm sorry ;) I was only teasing with the "desperate" comment :) But seriously, they must have liked you to have picked you up that quickly!

My impression of council stuff is that they can be a bit beaurocratic, but good benefits :) As others said, six months could easily turn into more :)
And at worst, working for the council for six months will look good on your CV :)

So have you heard any more news yet, or have any idea when you will hear more?

Well done suz! I have worked for the council (in a crisis unit) and ours look after their staff very well indeed.

Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Im - OK, I'll forgive ya! I haven't heard anymore yet - they have to post me out a security type form to fill in first.

Dianne - Thanks! I hope they look after their staff anyway! I shall indeed keep the blog updated with news as and when :-)
